Abstract


The aim of the present paper is to prove the Hyers-Ulam stability of the quadratic functional equation

f(x + y) + f(x + \sigma(y)) = 2f(x) + 2f(y), x, y \in E

and the Jensen functional equation

f(x + y) + f(x + \sigma(y)) = 2f(x), x, y \in E

on a restricted domain, where \sigma is an involution of the normed space E.
