COINCIDENCE INDEX FOR NONCOMPACT MAPPINGS ON NONCONVEX SETS

Abstract

We describe a general procedure which allows us to extend a degree or more generally a coincidence index which is dened only for compact maps to a rather large class of noncompact maps. In contrast to existing results in this direction the convex hull is not used for this purpose so that also e.g. fixed point results on nonconvex domains can be obtained.
