A HALF SPACE BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEM OF A THERMOELASTIC SOLID WITH MICROSTRUCTURE

Abstract


An isotropic, homogeneous and centrosymmetric thermoelastic solid with microstructure occupying the half-space x3>0 is considered. The linear basic equations in the case of steady state vibrations of a such material is presented. Then, a three-dimensional boundary value problem of the governing partial differential equations, when displacements, microrotations and a heat flux are given on the boundary x3 = 0 is studied. By using a previous result of us and the Fourier transforms technique, the solution of the de¯ned boundary value problem is found. By making to tend to zero certain material constants, similar results of the micropolar elastic half-space, classical thermoelastic half-space, or classical elastic half-space can be obtained.
