ON MEIR-KEELER TYPE CONTRACTIVE MAPPINGS WITH DIMINISHING ORBITAL DIAMETERS

Abstract

In this paper we establish fixed point theorems for a class of contractive type mappings, which deal with the diameter of orbits and the Meir-Keeler type condition. Our results extend, improve and unify the results obtained by Fisher [5], HegedÄus [7], HegedÄus and Szilagyi [8], Liu [13], Ohta and Nikaido [17], Park [18], Park and Rhoades [19, 20] and others.
