ON PROPER K-BALL CONTRACTIVE RETRACTIONS IN THE BANACH SPACE BC([0,infty))

Abstract

We construct for every e > 0 a (1+e)-ball contractive retraction in the Banach space BC([0,infty)) with positive lower measure of noncompactness, which implies that it is a proper retraction.
