A NECESSARY AND SUFFICIENT CONDITION FOR THE EXISTENCE OF POSITIVE SOLUTIONS TO A CLASS OF SINGULAR SECOND-ORDER BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS

Abstract

We study the existence of positive solutions to a class of second order singular boundary value problems by means of lower and upper solutions. A necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of C[0, 1] and C1[0, 1] positive solutions is obtained. Results of this paper extend and include some results in [4-7].
